Reeve candidates

The advance poll is on Wednesday October 26th, 2022 from 4 pm to 7 pm. The election day is Wednesday November 9th, 2022 from 9 am to 8 pm. Both the advance poll and the election day will be held at the Rec Centre located at 211 Main Street in Wakaw, Sask.

I, Ed Martens, am running for the Reeve position.

I have lived in the RM of Fish Creek for 6 years. I was foreman for 2 years (March 2019 – June 2021).  I am running to bring equal opportunity to all residents of the RM. To hold councilors accountable on decision making. To put a halt on favoritism. That all Ratepayers receive equal service, not individual friends. Stop wasteful spending. To finish projects that have not been completed. To put our trust into our employees, they have the knowledge and skill. Provide tools and equipment for the safety of our employees.

Make schedules for road gravelling, road maintenance, clay capping, rock removal on our roads, ditch cutting and dust control.

Looking for solutions on chronic road issues, wash boards, frost heaves, etc.

Excuses are not acceptable and promises are hard to keep.

But, honesty builds trust, trust builds relationships, relationships build a strong team.

Bringing teamwork to its fullest.

I would like to be given a chance to make a change for the better. With Ratepayer insight, Council working as a team. We can make this RM a pleasant place to call home.

Sincerely,

Ed Martens

Hello fellow rate payers of the RM of Fish Creek,

I, Ryan Sawitsky would like to introduce myself as a candidate in the running for the chair of becoming Reeve.

Those of you that don’t know me I am a building mover, farmer, property owner living in the RM of Fish Creek. I am a family man and been self employed since the age of 21 so I know what it takes to manage a situation, money and employees in a team environment.

I have worked for the RM in the past as the foreman so I know the working of the municipality as well the issues that are needing attention to detail.

What I would like to see happen if I get the position is to give the Ratepayers fair representation of what they are wanting and needing. I want rate payers to feel that when they call upon their representative which either should be their councillor or Reeve to get their concerns resolved as best as possible. I have many other reasons as to why I would like the opportunity, with your help, to become the Reeve. I am willing to explain in more detail if you would like for me to stop in or call me anytime to discuss.

Thank you for taking time to read my statement on wanting to be your Reeve.

I look forward to meeting with you, getting your call as well your vote.

Thank you, Ryan Sawitsky
