Important announcement about services resuming at Rosthern Medical Clinic and Rosthern Hospital ER on Apr 1/20

Dr. James McMillan message:

Rosthern Medical Clinic and Rosthern Hospital ER will be resuming services on Wed, Apr 1, 2020 at 8:00 AM.

We will continue with current vigilant social distancing recommendations to minimize the amount of traffic in healthcare facilities.

Rosthern Medical Clinic will continue to do as many clinic appointments as possible by phone. If your concern absolutely cannot be addressed by phone, we will give you a scheduled time for an in-person appointment at the clinic. However, to decrease your potential contact with others, we will not have you waiting in the waiting room. Please notify our clinic staff by phone (if possible) when you arrive at the clinic, and they will call you when they are ready to take you directly into an examining room.

Rosthern Hospital ER will continue to see patients. But please remember that the emergency room must be reserved for true emergencies. If your visit is not an emergency, do not come to the ER. Please make arrangements to be seen at a more appropriate setting. We MUST NOT have unnecessary traffic in the hospital. If you are unsure if you should be seen in person or where you should be seen, please call Rosthern Hospital (306-232-4811) or Rosthern Medical Clinic (306-232-4894), or 811.

Rosthern Hospital will maintain its restricted visitor policy as per the direction of the health authority.

Rosthern Hospital Lab and X-ray department will be open its regular hours for urgent outpatient labs and X-rays. These must be authorized by a physician. Routine, non-urgent labs and X-rays will not be done as per the direction of the health authority. If, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, you had been instructed to get labwork or an X-ray done in April or May and are unsure if your investigations are urgent or necessary, please contact your physician.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Thank you for your patience, and we look forward to serving you in the coming days!”
